Push/Pull Screws

Hey,

I own a corsair H100I and a Msi RTX 2080Ti Sea Hawk X and I wanted to do push/pull for both.

But do you know where I can find screws that can goes through all the fan to the rad while being screwed in the case ? Cause they don't give screws to do push/pull setup in the boxes.

Thanks.

The length is typically the same across all manufacturers but the pitch and thread lengths are based on the threading for the radiator.

I take my radiators up to the local hardware store with screw examples from the manufacturer, then match them up and purchase.  Ive yet to re-thread a radiator as Im unsure how the thin aluminum would hold.

I.E. my Cooler Master AIO and my Corsair AIO and my bag of XPC radiator fan screws - none of them match up across each other.  My radiators from China match none of them either and have their own pitch and thread lengths for how it was produced in China.

Okay well so my best option is to do like you and take them to the store to look for the good length and pitch :).

Thanks !

That's how I solve it each time lol - just bring the screws you use, go up to the people in the screw department and ask for help, they can usually direct you to the right area (and typically have a screw board that they can put the screw in to figure out WHAT it is exactly to sell you what you NEED exactly :) )

@Alfakyn I also bring my radiators in so I ensure they are what I need, and do a fit test

Yes, for the fans no problem. My problem is more with the rads cause both are AIO, don't really wanna take a 1500€ gpu with me around haha.

I'll take the small screw that they give in the boxes, then buy the same pitch size and every length available ! It's very cheap here so not a problem.

Oh thanks, I asked them about something like that a week ago but didn't get any reply yet.

This solve at least the H100i problem. Thanks a lot !

Hardware store = $1, special screws from Manufacturer = 7$ or more usually just sayin!

They were in the box haha.

I installed 2Nf F12 IPPC3 I had laying around but not sure if it's a good idea.
Temps decrease dramatically, but I"ve heard somewhere you shouldn't use 2 different fans for a push/pull configuration. Is that true ?

Cause currently on one side I have 2*white LL120 and other side 2* NFF12 IPPC 3000. Each fan is connected with a "Y" cable to the pump.

And for the Sea Hawk X, I bought lots of different screws, but witjh my luck none actually worked.

I need 3.5 diameter and they have 3 or 4 ><. Gonna look somewhere else tomorrow. And need to buy again 2 NF F12 if it's not a problem to use them with the H100i cause they were intended for the GPU not the CPU.

PS : Temps for CPU went down from 93 degrees (4000Mhz auto boost) to 80-87 degrees (upto 4150Mhz auto boost) on 3700X. And GPU also went from 74 degrees to 71degrees just by adding fans to the CPU rad which is at intake.

Doesn't actually matter (diff fans) just not "optimal" - one of my 120mm AIO's has 2 random fans on it cause fans available and it works very very well (WAY better than I thought lol)

Those temps still seem hot to me, however

It can cause turbulent noise or worsen performance if the weaker fan ends up impeding airflow more than helping. It's generally better though and the fans you're using aren't too different.

Here the ambiant temp is 30 degrees.

And I'm in a quite restrictive case (Be Quiet Dark Base 700), that's why I choose to go for push/pull with CPU rad as intake.
And those temps are after a 15min run of Aida64, stressing everything including GPU.

But yeah I think the case is not helping, but I like the look it has.

I ordered some NF F12 IPPC 2000 instead of 3000. The 2000 version is closer in terms of static pressure than the 3000. So I'll switch the 3000 to the GPU and the 2000 to the CPU with the LL120, should be better.
