Is the i7 6900k still relevant? I just bought one and a half working asus x99 rampage v edition 10 (Can only run quad channel) And it's bent so it's pretty messed up, but it work's. For 320 dollar or 285 euro (Boughtu in europe). My friend told me it was the stupidest purchase i've ever made. And i think it's a pretty good one What do you guys think?

:Edit: English is not my main native language so please forgive any spelling mistakes.

It can only run in the quad channel configuration with to on each side.

So it's working fine. Your motherboard only supports quad channel memory.

You could have probably gotten a ryzen 3600 and b450 motherboard for that price and been better off.

Well it only has 6 cores and i would need to bios update. Keep in mind i live in europe so a 3600 cost 230 euro's and i would only get a crappy b450 that i would need to update. I see the point tho.

I mean the 6900k is still a good chip, I’m just a little worried for you because of the mobo issues.

Well if the motherboard don't work i'll just sell it on ebay and get another one. Theese motherboards go for 350 dollars in good condition on ebay. Si could probably sell it for 100 dollar.
