Sata ports

some older motherboards have both sata 3 and sata 2 ports but the z370 doesnt

it doesnt, but it's good practisce to plug them in according to desired boot order, since that also gives it the best chance of bios resets (if they're ever necessary) to not screw up your propper boot order.

 

this actually would have saved me a lot of time at some point. couldnt figure out why after a bios reset my computer kept hanging on boot.. turns out it was trying to boot off of an old backup instance on my HDD, rather than the SSD. have since swapped the cables around and things are more reliable now. (aside from my NIC somehow insisting on booting from LAN before booting from SSD)
