Final check on PC upgrade

i think ill probably go for the 2700 then

I would do the 3600 over the 2700 any day especially in a gaming rig, the single core performance is much better with 3000 series cpus over the 2000 series.

i was recomended the i5-9600k, would that be better?

The 3600 would be better. For raw gaming performance at a good price the 3600 is your best option over the 2700 and the 9600k.

The 3600 and 9600k are pretty close in gaming with some titles trading blows, but the multicore performance of the 3600 blows the 9600k out of the water, so for streaming and video editing the 3600 is a much better processor. The 3600 is also $60 or so cheaper and overall a much better CPU for that price range and what you need it for. As for the 2700 the 3600 beats it in almost every thing, better single core performance for gaming, and even the multicore performance is improved on it. You can't go wrong with the Ryzen 5 3600.

Ryzen 3000 series got much improved single core performance over the previous generations, which matters in gaming. Ryzen 3600 is pretty much equivalent in gaming as 9600K, but in multi-threaded scenarios 3600 absolutely crushes 9600K, which should help you with running streaming along with your games. You may have to assign streaming software to specific threads if it doesn't work flawlessly automatically.

Here you can see that an overclocked 9600K can pass 3600 in gaming only scenario, and both will be better performers than 2700:

3700X | NH-D15 | X470-F | 2x16GB @3200MHz | RTX 2060 Ventus OC

RM650x | Fractal Design R4 | NVMe 970 EVO Plus 512GB | SATA 850 EVO 512GB

That looks about right. See if you can OC your ram to 3600, and also I would get the b450m pro4. Cheaper and more ram slots for future upgradability.

Sorry, but this makes no sense. The Pro4 is a simpler board, with inferior memory support, less vrm phases, and fairly cheaper. 2 vs 4 ram slots: makes no difference, as, b450 mobos don't support quad channel at all, and using only two sticks, there is a greater chance of RAM OC-ing to high frequencies. Especially in case of 1st&2nd gen Ryzens, it is considered to be lucky to get clock speeds above 2666Mhz with 4 RAM sticks.

2x8GB should be plenty. When he'll need 2x16, probably there'd be DDR5 going already..

Life is really challenging. I don't always suceed: )

for gaming, I'd say right now the 3600 is the best option. Performs very close to intel 9600-9700k cpu-s, for lower price. I would not consider anything else.

Try to get a decent aftermarket cooler for the 3600, and it'll boost to higher clocks than the 3600x, which is a pretty bad value cpu IMHO.

almost anything would be better than stock wraith stealth. but my favourite picks are:

Alpenföhn Brocken Eco Advanced, Alpenföhn Ben Nevis Advanced, Deepcool Gammaxx400, ID Cooling SE-214X, Silentium PC Fera3, and, though I really don't like them, because of the brand, but, the CoolerMaster Hyper212X or Hyper212 Black Edition is also very capable for a 3600. (I'm not able to check UK prices now, so these recommendations can be differently priced there than here..)

what about http://alza.co.uk ? :) not much range of rams, though. Feel free to browse through their offerings, their prices are generally reasonable.
