i had a similar situation the other day when i was overclocking my ram

iirc i was advised to modify the voltage from 1.2 to 1.3v on the ram

there is a situation with your pc, if the list of part on your signature are correct, first gen ryzen motherboards and cpus had lots of compatibility issues with many ram kits, could be the case, try to set it at 2800 and see how it goes

you can also try to do it with ryzen master if you want, instead of use bios

JEDEC standard for that memory kit is DDR4-2400 MHz with 17-17-17-## timings at 1.2V

XMP 1: DDR4-3000 MHz 15-17-17-## timings at 1.35V

XMP 2: DDR4-2666 MHz 15-17-17-## timings at 1.35V

It looks like this RAM kit is unstable with XMP enabled, and running at the 3000 MHz profile.

Clues:

  • Computer restarts 7~9 times = BIOS trying attempting to self relearn, trying different secondary timings to get 3000 MHz stable
  • Relearn and XMP fails, so loads fail-safe JEDEC settings
  • CPU-Z is showing 2400 MHz (e.g. 1200 MHz) with 17-17-17-39 timings
  • As I mentioned above, 17-17-17-## is JEDEC settings

What version motherboard BIOS are you running?

If you don't already have a latest BIOS (or a more recent one) flashed onto your motherboard, give that a try first.

If that doesn't work, then either your CPU and/or motherboard cannot handle the more aggressive 3000 MHz overclock.

EDIT:

Ryzen 2600 is capable of running up to 2933 MHz before going out of spec and into "overclocking."

HOWEVER, lower tier MSi B350 PC Mate motherboard lists 2666, 2933, and 3200+ as "OC."

It looks like motherboard could be the limiting factor.
