Minecraft server hosting, did something wrong

Go to solution Solved by Hawx,

1. You don't have to be rude, this is why I am seeking help in the first place.

2. Okay, now I know that.

3. Will try

4. Again, now I know that.

I wasn't trying to be rude, more just saying that you've kinda turned a small crash into a bigger problem. Server crashes happen all the time, if they do, you go to a place like bukkit.org, spigotmc.org (if you're using those), or even the minecraftforums to find help, pastebin'ing the logs of the crash for others to read. Deleting the entire server is drastic action that never finds the source of the original issue. In this case you might have deleted files responsible for interaction between the server and Multicraft, resulting in the problems you're facing.

So me and a couple of friends bought a server for a month yesterday. It is on a website and I am the owner.

Thing is, I restarted the server once and it crashed, and it didn't boot up again.

It never would boot up again.

Logged in via FTP. via their website and I deleted the server files hoping that the files would be restored like it would on an actual pc.

But nope.

I contacted support and they told me to download a Tekkit mod pack. (because what we want is Tekkit) and upload the Tekkit mod pack to the file manager there.

So I tried, but of course you can only choose 1 file at a time and I need to upload the files of an entire server, which means the map 'World' and all other TXT files.

They told me to use Filezilla, but I can't connect to my server via Filezilla for one because it is offline BECAUSE it crashed.

What do I do now?

I also tried the 'upload file and unzip it' option on their website, it does unzip the mod packs and the server.jar and such, but no 'world' map or anything of that kind.

That should be full with files, but as said before, I deleted them

Try contacting them and find out why FileZilla is not working for you.

If I were you , I'd first try and install a vanilla server in the directory (because that is the lightest option) and find out if that works first.

Also, doesn't your host have regular backup points? Or maybe server logs so you could find out what went wrong?

So many things wrong with the OP.

#1 You should've gotten help with the original crash before just deciding to delete everything.

#2 FTP has nothing to do with the server being online or not. If you can access the MultiCrap control panel, then you can access the files via FTP. (yes, I did say Crap, Multicraft is the worst Minecraft CP in existence). Are you sure you got the FTP details right? Did you change the Authentication type to 'normal' while adding the details in Filezilla?

#3 Change the server type to a bukkit server then start it, the files should regenerate.

#4 Mod packs do not contain world files, no idea where you got that idea from, it's up to the server to generate those.

Putting the server on Bukkit didn't do it, but when I tried Vanilla it did the trick, thanks!

Just a note that might want to read up about the various server implementations. Bukkit has a ton of plugins and various other improvements on top of the base Vanilla minecraft. Spigot is a high-performance version of Bukkit. Tekkit is the massive modpack I'm assuming your familiar with, and should be an option within the list of server types in Multicraft if you're looking for that. There are a few others that I don't know off the top of my head.
