Hi, im gonna upgrade my setup to a 240hz display. I have 16gb of ram, intel i7 8700 and a gtx 970. And i usely play fortnite and get 240fps. So i am wondering if i should By the new amd 5700(450,43usd) and the Dell Alienware AW2518HF(421,24usd) . Or  Asus LED G-Sync ROG Swift PG258Q(698,45usd), and upgrade gpu to a 2060 super when it get a beat cheaper.  I wan't to upgrade gpu becus i play competitive fortnite and you get a lot fps drop, and if i get a 240hz monitor i wan't that experience.

Wait for cüstom cooled RX5700. I bet they'll beat the "founder's edition" by a few percent& will be more quiet. And over the years, there is a possibility, that the NAVI cards will "age well", ripen. Remember how 1060 outperformed 580 at the time of introduction, and now, the 580 is a little bit faster? Or How were Vega cards performing in comparison with 1070 and 1070ti, and how they perform now?

On the long run, AMD GPU-s many times just get better. I suggest waiting for custom cards.

Life is really challenging. I don't always suceed: )

Well Fortnite is a very Nvidia biased title, so if you're only playing that then the 2060 or 2060 Super are better buys. BUT..if you play other games as well, the 5700 or 5700 XT is by far the better buy than the 2060 Super. The 5700 is $50 cheaper, and performs pretty much the same when you compare it in lots of games. The 5700 XT is actually pretty impressive even in Fortnite, because it's only like 1% behind the 2060 Super. And it demolishes the 2060 Super in pretty much everything else.

And actually, AMD's Anti-lag feature might be of use to you. It is aimed at competitive gamers like you, because it decreases latency by around a third in most games. I'd say that's something to consider. In that case, I'd go for one of the AMD cards instead of the Super cards.

240hz is a marketing gimmick, you can't tell the difference from a 120hz monitor and usually the monitor is not even actually 240hz because of limitations in the LCD. Don't waste money on a 240hz monitor and don't waste money on a new graphics card you have no use for.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨
