Computer Issue?

I'm not sure what has been happening recently with my computer. While in the middle of a document, my computer started to have it's fan speed rile up out of nowhere and caused my computer to freeze up. I ended up restarting it, and it began to act normal. However, with a couple minutes of usage, the issue reoccurred. I'm not sure if I downloaded a virus, or if this is a component issue.

a virus would have to push cpu into 100% usage to cause the fan speed to change

 

that is not that common, i havent seen it happen in like 10 years

 

sounds to me like a hardware issue or a driver issue, but i am not sure here

 

could you share your system specs? i assume you are running win 10
