144hz not working

KayPeters123

So i bought a new 144 monitor today. When i go to 'change resolution' in the NVIDEA control panel i cant go higher than 60 hz. But when i go to desktop size and position i do get the option to go all the way to 144. So is it capped at 60 hz ornot??

EDIT: i had it connected to HDMI but i changed it to display port considering i have an nvidea card. still cant go above 60 at the 'change resolution' section

Look at the resolution panel...  You are in TV resolutions, which are limited.  NV shows 1920x1080 for TV and PC as two different entries in that control panel, and only the PC ones can go above 60hz.

IMHO, just set resolution and refresh rate in the windows display settings.

I bought a aoc 2790px27 today. plan on using it with an NVIDEA card so i have it hooked up to a display port. However, when i go to advanced display settings it shows just 60hz. Even when i go to the NVIDEA control panel, it wont let me go above 60???

Click "Display adapter properties for Display 1" go to the second tab in the window that opens and set the refresh rate there.

In the Nvidia control panel resolution list, scroll down to below the PC line, it should have your resolution and let you set the proper refresh rate there.
