"gaming" monitors

If i don't buy a gaming monitor, what am  i missing?

i mainly use my pc for xplane, which averages at about 30fps on my system (which is considered v.good)

and so i do not need a 144Hz monitor or gsync / freesync as adaptive sync stuff only works above 40 according to what i have found.

so am i missing anything by buying a dell u2518d with better colours (and 54% off!) than say a samsung C27JG50? (at a £20 differnce to get the samsung gaming monitor over the dell)

* i know the samsung doesn't do gsync , but pretend it does as there are others with it
