Oldies cpu upgrade question

I don't think you can, unless there is a hacked BIOS.  Here is the HP support page for your motherboard, and the CPU upgrade section only mentions Core 2 duo and below. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c00910113#N116

the chipset only seems to support 533MHz and 800MHz FSB

 

although the spec sheet says E4300 as max I do believe you can run an E4700 since it has a 800MHz FSB

 

No Core 2 Quad will work with your board
