Does GTX 960 support FreeSync?

brncrsh

Hello,

I like to buy a new monitor with Freesync, but the only thing keeping me from going ahead with the purchase is the fact that I don't know if I'll be able to test if Freesync is working properly once it gets on my hands (I heard that sometimes some monitor may have issues with it).
By googling I've read that nVidia support G-Sync starting from Maxwell cards, which include the GTX 960, but FreeSync is said to be supported from GTX 10-series and up.

So, can someone confirm if GTX 960 support FreeSync or not?
If it doesn't, is just a middle finger from nVidia since the 900 series support G-Sync?

Thanks in advance.

the official statement is that, from gtx 10 series and up, so thst one is not covered

also the cinnector must be displayport, nvidia doesnt support gsync to freesync via hdmi, often freesync monitors come with hdmi only

perhaps you could change that gpu in the future, and meanwhile buy the fresync monitor with the feature off, you can enable it but doesnt do anything if the gpu is not compatible, doesnt harm the experience anyway
