Hi all. Sorry if this is the wrong subforum. My mom's house was struck by lightning during a nasty storm. Dispite a small fire, everything seems to be fine. Her work laptop was on the docking station, plugged in when it happened. Her laptop and all still works fine. My question is, is the power supply and battery still safe even after the lightning strike? Should she have those things replaced? She hasnt been able to check on her tv's or the Wii, but if they all work too, would they be safe as well? Or should she replace the power cords and power supplies?

Thank you for your time.

As long as everything was plugged into a surge protector when the lightning struck, all those devices should be fine. Double check anything that wasn't plugged into a surge protector, but if it charges fine, holds the charge, and still powers on, you should be fine.

If everything is working fine, then you'r got to go.

Those stuff are not like the volume lower higher, they either work or not.

Diving deeper maybe a capacitor got hit, something you cant check without open it and check them inside
