Laptop not charging

Hello, 

 

I use a Dell Vostro 3559. Recently, my laptop doesn't charge the battery if I plug in my laptop to the charger.

It doesn't even boost my cpu freq to its max, but other functions like increased brightness and stuff works.

The battery icon says plugged in but doesn't say charging.

 

Please Help.

let it discharge completelly, then plug charger back, if it doesnt charge is the battery that died and needs to be replaced

 

if it charges normally it was a error caused by battery or lapptop detecting wrong battery status
