Tips For First PC Build

Go to solution Solved by boey,

This helped me with my first PC build, it may not be the exact same but it'll remind you of what to do so you don't miss anything important out

Pretty good guide for post-build setup.

Hi,

I've picked all the parts for my first budget PC build. I'm planning to upgrade in the future, e.g. more RAM // adding a graphics card etc, but for now, these are the parts:

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/BobThePCBuilder25/saved/#view=BTCZf7

Any tips //  links to good guides for a first time PC builder would be great!

Thanks!! (p.s if someone could have a final quick look through of the parts to see there all definitely compatible, that would be great xD)

All the parts have great reviews

But I'm planning to upgrade anyway so it doesn't matter to much, but thanks ?

except if you looked a bit closer at them...

the ds3h has a mediocre vrm heatsink at best, even if it does have the same 4C10N and 4C06N as many other gigabyte boards.

the bt has a 30 degree operation, which is horrible, even at a low price

the case i can live with

the ssd is your own risk then

The case is fine for a budget build, "I can live with it" ?. other parts, yeah fair enough. Im not trying to run high end games on it though, any recommendations for better parts?

Before starting your machine for the first time.

Connect to wall outlet

Turn wall outlet on

Turn on PSU

Ensure CPU power cable is connected

Ensure monitor is connected to wall outlet and outlet is on

Ensure monitor is connected to PC

Ensure Monitor is set to correct source

These tips will save you from the biggest “OH GOD NO” moments every PC builder experiences.
