As most people asking for help I have little experience with upgrading hardware, I'm looking to upgrade the GPU on my Packard bell pc, I don't know what would be good or work well with what I already have or if I have a good enough power supply, I mostly play older games recently i was attempting to play FalloutNV, so I'm not looking for anything over the top just able to run most medium requirement games and I'd appreciate any help. ?

Motherboard: Packard bell ixtreme M5800

CPU: Intel core i5 650 3.20GHz

Memory: 7GB DDR3

Current GPU: AMD Radeon HD5450

Does your motherboard look like this?

If this is the one, it supports a standard power supply. That means you can get yourself a quality PSU and then update to your heart's content. I recommend a GTX 750 or 750 ti from eBay. A first gen i7 (or xeon equivalent, which are much cheaper) would go a long way too, and if you went for one of those, the aforementioned RX 570 is a great choice.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

@fasauceome Yeah that looks about right, What would be the best way to find out the wattage my PC needs? I've been told to be careful when getting a power supply.

You're not swinging for the fences with your hardware, so don't expect to need much wattage. A 450 watt or higher PSU will do the trick nicely.

As for quality, check out the PSU tier list to see what's good for your money. The Corsair CX and CXM are often the cheapest good power supplies.

@fasauceome From what I've found the GTX 750 looks like a good choice and according to cnet under system requirements it says it requires only a 400 watt power supply witch i think I have tho I'll check, I think I'll be going for the GTX 750. I really appreciate the help

The 750 sips power, and a mere quad core i5 isn't exactly power hungry either. You can get away with 200 watts it you really feel like it, but good power supplies rarely come in flavors below 450 watts.

And also, look at a processor like a Xeon X3450 or X3460, they're super cheap and it's an upgrade in a small way. The i5 750 is a similar story, just without hyperthreading.
