What the BIOS chip size on that bored. Because I know some of the new bios updates might be to big for your board.

You have to update the board with the newest bios update before it will work and most boards need a CPU in to flash the bios, so you might need a Ryzen 2000 CPU in the board for the update to work.

Also make sure your flash drive with the bios update is plugged directly into the usb 3 port on the motherboard and not one on your case.

Are you trying BIOS 2406?  Did you use the tool in Windows to re-name the BIOS?  Did you use the USB port labeled BIOS?  Have you used that USB stick to update BIOS before?  If not then is it formatted FAT32?

Ibdid see your post and in order of ask

Yes,yes, yes, technically no because apperently my first attempt was also a failure, and formatted to fat16 and fat 32

And acourding to asus rep only way to update bios is with a different cpu.

And nothing personal but unless someone with the same mobo I'm currently having issues with suggests something at this point I'm sure if tried the rest of the ideas you guys can spit ball at me.

I have the exact same board. All you need to do is download latest bios AND the tool needed to rename the bios. Also pretty sure to do the flashback you need to take out CPU/RAM. This board indeed supports bios flashback. Unlike the old haswell days there should be no need to have an old cpu. As those bios updates had to be run in windows for some reason...

That's a bug in the latest BIOS for several ASUS boards.  They will fix it.

Yes I heard. Got my 3800x today! So think it might be wise to wait on next bios before I install? I have a g903 btw.

None that I've seen. My blk clocks got wonkie out of box and my cpu and ram voltages were way to high but brought those down in bios. Gonna try just undervolting as setting all core boost compared to precision boost perf is negligible at best it seems on ryzen3k. Then oc ram try to get as high as I can with out really changing timings as I dint quite understand how to do timungs yet
