Slow clock speeds, old microarchitecture, even if you go with these for the core increase you'd have to overclock the stuffing out of them to get your performance back. presumably you're either running a 5960X or a 6800k, which are not exactly difficult to get above 4GHz (my friend's running his at 4.4), but an 18 core Xeon will not play nice.
