Hi,

After completing my build I went straight into my Bios and changed the XMP profile to the 3000Mhz profile (appropriate for my RAM). I then selected a 3200Mhz setting in the 'memory try it' section, saved the changes and restarted. Since then my motherboard will not post. I've tried clearing the CMOS by taking the battery out and also by shorting the CMOS switch, however no matter what I try I can't get the system to post at all.

I know this was probably a foolish mistake to try overclocking 3000Mhz RAM but I didn't think it could cause a catastrophic problem like this1

I'm not getting any troubleshooting lights on the motherboard., just no output onto my screen. I've taken my GPU out and reinstalled it so there's no problem with the card. Like I say I got into Bios before.

I've followed all the trouble shooting guides, tried each stick of ram one at a time and I get the same result. Is there anything else I can try? Have I fried my motherboard/RAM somehow?

Many thanks.

Phil

You can try to take out CMOS battery and put it back in.

So. at this point it looks like a RMA, does it not?

Kinda sounds like your issue, especially the 3200 part..,.....

Do you think it's motherboard or RAM?
