Second hard-drive?

Today i got a new hard-drive from a friend (he wasnt using it),

i plug it in my pc... i put the sata cable,the power cable...and i boot it up...

My system cant find the hard-drive...so i go to the bios and it still is unditected*.

I am afraid to say thow... when it starts up... i hear a srcatchy noise...

 

This is my first time installing a second hard-drive...

Might be broken, check inside of the os for all the drive configs, and see if it's recognized there.

as i said...it doesnt shows it on bios...

by undetected you mean in Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management, and choose Disk Management.  As if the drive is not imitated it won’t show up.

It should however show up on you motherboard.  You may need to individually enable sata ports.

it is not show up from Computer manager......i will try to find it throw my motherboard as you said

well the scratchy noise that it make is because it is broken there goes a 500gb Hard-drive
