Upgrading PC, how's my build?

I'm currently upgrading my old PC because it's PSU and motherboard is breaking down but i'm not sure if my part chosen is the best value atm. Here's my current build:

Motherboard: LGA 1155

CPU: i5-3570

GPU: GTX 970

Here's the part I'm choosing to buy (price is in AUD):

MSI X570-A PRO AM4 ATX Motherboard -$259.00

Corsair TX550M 550W 80 Plus Gold Power Supply - $118.00

AMD Ryzen 5 3600 - $296

I'm also planning to upgrade my GPU to an RX 5700 XT in the near future. Any feedback would be appreciated

Looks good! The 970 should hold you over until you can get an RX 5700XT.

Edit: just saw the price in that TXm tho...that’s not a good price at all. Maybe try looking for an RMx or a Cooler Master MWE Gold instead as they should perform better for less.

Ok thanks but my main concern is the PSU because the original PSU is a 750 W and my chosen PSU is a 550 W. I'm just worried that it wont provide enough power.

Maybe this instead. It’s a better unit anyway.

edit: that 550w would be cutting it a little close

550watts is plenty for that rig. I had the 970 with my i5-4590 and using a killowatt it never reached 400watta usage.

Why that ridiculously expensive board though? it doesn't make any sense

oooh sorry, though you might wanna pick a more value oriented PSU, it's not that 550W is not enough for a 3600 and a 5700XT, it's plenty, but you might upgrade to a 12 core a few years down the line, it might suck if you had to change the PSU as well, look at the CX650M / CX650 for example, but otherwise everything seems great

It's a good PSU but it's unnecessary to spend that much on a 3600 system, i'm only just recommending a tiny bit extra for future upgrades since the AM4 platform is crazy

Nvm, just found out the Corsair TX550M 550W 80 Plus Gold Power Supply cost $130 plus shipping but with the 750 W only cost $135

It's up to you I guess, but just know that 550W is way more than enough for your current system
