Upgrade itch!

Hey people!

I'm currently sitting on:

i7 5820K (golden boy clocked to 4.7GHz)
Asus X99-s
16GB 3200MHz
GTX 1080
850w G2 EVGA
yaya pretty good build still by todays standard

Though Ryzen's 3000-series is tempting.

I'm basically looking at the 3900X.

I do gaming, video rendering, recording and alot of photo editing. That would be premiere, lightroom and PS. My 5820K is aging, while it still is fully functional and arguably kicking ass my thought is to sell it while it still has some value to lower the cockshot blow when buying new.

What are your thoughts, guys? I mean of course it's going to improve my experience with rendering and all that, but is it pointless? Anyones opinion here is valid.

What's the case here? Do you actually need to upgrade because your system is unsatisfactory or are you just swooped into the hype?

Bit of both.

My system works but improving it is tempting.

It's fun to upgrade.

Id either sell off the parts or hand them down to my girlfriend.

And to clarify I'm basically only upgrading the motherboard and CPU
