Best ultrawide under 320€?

NunoLava1998

I just want a good quality ultrawide that will last me atleast 3-4 years. I only have a RX 570 and do plan to game, so if possible i wouldn't go higher than 90hz and 2560x1080. Since that is a lot of money for an ultrawide like that, maybe I could get some professional monitor with incredibly good colors. Nothing else, really.

1080p ultrawides kinda suck. The whole point of a ultrawide is to be big and with 1080p, the PPI is atrocious. I would probaly just stick with a decent 16:9 panel if you need 144hz.

This seems like a good option

I don't need 144hz; for me resolution and color is most important. 75hz is pretty good for me.

If you can stretch the budget a bit, have a look at this Asus VG 279Q:

That isn't ultrawide, and that's pretty expensive for a 144hz monitor wtf?

Yes, because I agree with Himommies. I don't think you will be happy with an ultrawide at 1080p.

I would go for a higher res monitor, unfortunately anything higher than 2560x1080 is atleast 500€. And I do prefer ultrawide; i do some coding and also do need more screen space

29'' or 34'' ?

Doesn't matter as long as it's more than 27" (and isn't 847")

If you insist on an ultrawide, then maybe this LG monitor:

Looks like they're the same monitor (except screen sizes; i prefer 29"). I'll probably go for the LG-29WK600-W (210€) and get something else with it. Thank you for the suggestions

Yes, at 1080p I think you definitely prefer a 29" over a 34".

29'' ultrawide is pretty small. 29" UW is about the same height as a 23-24" standard 16:9 monitor.

I actually do use a monitor that size so that's good

For my own edification, I calculated the PPI of common monitor sizes. Interesting, I think.

Monitor Resolutions (Diagonal)

1080 x 1920    24"    92 PPI

                        27"    82 PPI

                        30"    73 PPI

1080 x 2560    25"   111 PPI

                        29"    96 PPI

                        34"    82 PPI

                        35"    79 PPI

1440 x 2560    24"   122 PPI

                        27"   109 PPI

                        32"     92 PPI

1440 x 3440    34"    110 PPI

                        35"    107 PPI

I actually just measured, my monitor is 19" o_o

Any small 75hz ultrawides, or is 29" the smallest?

Product page says it's 22", so it's likely that. 29" should be okay then.

Yes, I think the diagonal measurement may include the bezel, but my calculations were based on actual screen size. Pizapower noted that the 29" ultrawide has the same vertical height as a typical 23-24", so I don't think you would want any smaller than a 29" ultrawide unless you live on a cruise ship. Looking at reviews and forums, many people seem quite happy with the 34" ultrawides, but if you do much production work I think the resolution would be too low. It's the same PPI though as a 1080p 27" and you don't hear many complaints about those (24" is considered the sweet spot for 1080p though.)

I don't do production work. I game, code and browse stuff a lot. Colors is important because I want it to be good for long, and I'm upgrading from a shit 1920x1080 TN monitor. I'll go for the 29". Thank you!
