What's up everybody?

So I need a bit of help trying to come up with a solution to a potential problem than transporting a full Tower setup when on TDY.

Backstory:

So here's what I have. My unit is implementing a new program to replace and outdated, old setup that was created when network security wasn't really a thing. The old program integrates a SCSI interface that Windows 10 does not have drivers for and runs off a Windows 7 server not connected to any network. The new program needs to be on the govt network requiring it to be using Windows 10. The new program still needs to be able to use the SCSI technology to read essentially a memory card from aircraft. The software engineers designed this to run off a desktop tower with SCSI PCIe cards and had to actually create their own drivers to be able to use the SCSI cards on Windows 10. Due to technology and program language, to my knowledge there is no SCSI to USB adapter that is in existence.

Now here is where I need help:

I am trying to figure out if running a laptop with Thunderbolt 3 and a putting a SCSI card in a PCIe chassis (https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16815158445?Description=external pcie&cm_re=external_pcie-_-15-158-445-_-Product) would work for a temporary mobile setup of if there is actually anything in the way of that plan? Should the drivers that were created function the same on a laptop running Windows 10 even if I am utilizing the PCIe Chassis or would it need to be rewritten to account for the Thunderbolt 3? The software engineers answer was for us to just transport a full desktop setup which sounds like an easy solution until they want to just run an air cooler putting strain on the motherboard.

This setup would have to be transported either in the back of a Semi or on a Plane and both are prone to a ton of vibration and not a great long term solution.
