Battery Damage?

I recently purchased a new laptop, and I opened it up to add more RAM and a 2.5" SSD and when I saw the battery I saw that it looked somewhat shrunken when laptop batteries are normally flat. So this got me worried, and I am wondering if this is a big problem? I would appreciate your help.

Looks like shrink wrap over the battery and a support frame.

alright, thanks and the battery and laptop function normally, and when I felt the battery it did feel like a wrap over the support frames as mentioned, but I just thought it was weird that it shrank like that
