I wanted to start LiteCoin mining, so I made an account on "give-me-coins.com" and then downloaded the first 3.7.2 from http://ck.kolivas.or...ps/cgminer/3.7/ . I then downloaded the LiteCoin wallet, which is still updating (cureently 11 weeks behind) and set up my wallet to the give-me-coins account. I then tried to create a .bat file for cgminer "cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://ltc.give-me-coins.com:3334 -u DeShack96.1 -p ltc1 -I 20". When i try to open the bat file, nothing happens, can someone help me?

Intensity 20 is a problem. Double click the bat file and make sure it's all formatted correctly

What should it say? I have a reference 7950 from Powercolor. I don't know exactly how to format it, I'm very new to the whole thing.

Put the intensity at 13 or so if you want your gpu to last

But why won't the application cgminer open? This is my current bat file "cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://ltc.give-me-coins.com:3334 -u DeShack96.1 -p ltc1 -I 13"

I'm double clicking, but it opens and closes the window instantly....its not running in the background either

Delete the bat file and try again, and 3.7.2 is the right one. Sometimes it happens. Is your miners name 1 or DeShack96?

Run this: cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://ltc.give-me-coins.com:3334 -u 1 -p ltc1 -I 13   : If your miners name is 1, if it's not try this: cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://ltc.give-me-coins.com:3334 -u DeShack96 -p ltc1 -I 13

Thanks for trying, but none of those worked, the username is DeShack96, and the worker name is 1, so i typed in DeShack96.1 . The window keeps popping up for about a milisecond before going away.

I don't think you need to type of your username, well at least for dogecoin you don't. If your mining litecoin just try this, it's a lot more easy. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=162708.0

Scroll down to "Compiled Binaries" Under the first photo, click the hyper link and it will download. It's the best way to mine litecoin :P

I believe that the problem is that the cgminer.exe file is not in the download with cgminer(kinda stupid) but I found a version of cgminer (2.11.3) that had the cgminer.exe in the folder included with cgminer. I was wondering if anyone could give me the cgminer.exe for 3.7.2.?
