After 7 years it's time to upgrade. Just looking to fine-tune a build before the Ryzen release date. Just the PC as I already have peripherals. Going to be mainly for gaming and coding/running multi-threaded programs.

Well with that budget you could go straight top end new ryzen 3900x + a new X570 mobo.

either add a new Super series from nvidia or the new Navi from AMD @xtr650

Yes. Wait until there are independent benchmarks and reviews of the new cpu and motherboards (tested with 3xxx cpu).

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Wait for reviews. The Gigabyte X570 boards are looking nice though. The Aorus Elite shouldn't be too bad price wise.

 

What monitor are you going to be using for gaming ?

What monitor are you going to be using for gaming ?

Haven't decided on one yet, 240hz most likely. Not sure on brand.
