Celeron System

My dad needs a computer basically just good enough to run his CNC machine and I have been looking to put something together and had thought maybe a Celeron with like 4 gigs of ram would be a good idea because it will be in his garage and subject to lots of dirt and dust and needs to be relatively disposable.  Has anyone built a new Celeron system lately and if so is it a reasonable general purpose PC or is it garbage?

I would look around for a refurbed Dell tower.  You can find them well under $200 that would be ready to go.  Consider upgrading to an SSD, if budget allows, and you have a great system for the purpose.
