Java wont start with CMD

Yo so, im trying to host an MC server and it was quite a while ago I did so I´ve forgotten most of it. 

 

Now, when im trying to run the server using the command "java -Xms2048M -Xmx2048M -jar server.jar" the system replies with 

 

"Unable to access jarfile"

 

Someone who can help me out?

Is server.jar in the same folder where you are running the command? Otherwise it might be corrupt. Have you tried redownloading it?

check the user/group the jar file belongs to

 

try altering the permissions on the file:

sudo chmod +x server.jar
