Lately i have been noticing my pc freezing way too much not in game but the windows itself and i am chatting on discord and i can still hear my friends but the windows is frozen i cant click or do anything but turn off my whole pc and restart it.

Specs: Gtx 1660 ti

            ryzen 5 2400g

            16gb ram ddr4

windows 10 pro v.1803 installed on 970 evo plus m.2 ssd

This problem never occured to me but for the past week i have been having it and its very annoying. i mostly notice it happening after i close a game so maybe it freezes when i am playing but it doesnt affect my game so i can still game even if the windows froze but when i close the game i realize that my windows is just frozen. i do not know what to do and this is a very annoying problem.

This may be everything - hardware, drivers, virus etc. Start with AdwCleaner maybe. Then try to install Windows on another drive if you have spare drive (in case it's not software issue and your system is fine). Install different gfx driver. Check ram.

Hey @homeap5 sorry for the very late reply. Im sure my gpu and cpu and ram are fine ive used them for 2 months straight no problem  but about the m.2 drive my guess i feel like it could be overheating though i havent checked temperatures but i feel like this could be the problem although i had the same pc for 2 months without those freezing issues so it could either be my windows or my m.2 overheating but i hope its my windows cuz id rather get a newer copy of windows than pay another 100 dollars for another m.2 to overheat and cause the same problems. Cheers man i will try cleaning with AdwCleaner like you suggested and ill tell you if i experience this issue again.
