MacBook Air microphone picking up desktop audio.

Go to solution Solved by DrMacintosh,

I see you’ve got multiple Sunflower (which records desktop audio) aggregate devices installed. One particular with 64 ins/outs. You’ve also got a rekorbox aggregate device in there too.

The reason you would be getting desktop audio and mic audio is that somewhere in those aggregate devices, one of your Mics got thrown in.

It it looks like you do some Music production and of course I’m not familiar with your setup, so you’ll have to go through your aggregate devices and see which ones involve the mic and Sunflower and remove it.

I've been using an inline microphone on my headphones for using discord, Skype etc on my MacBook Air, but the people I talk to keep saying that they can hear my desktop audio, no matter if it is from YouTube or my music. I've looked online, but I can't find any solid fix. Is there anyway I can fix this? I'm kinda at a loss here.

That's strange because macOS does not have a native way to capture desktop audio for these kinds of programs.

Fire up Audio MIDI Setup and show us what audio devices you have listed as well as the audio settings you have for Discord.

I forgot to add that I am using OBS to capture video and audio. When I go to OBS mixer, the Mic/Aux is what my microphone and computer audio are all being routed through, and the audio output isn't able to capture the desktop audio at all
