Have problems with Chrome or shockwave

So occasionally, chrome just stops load pages, stops buffering, and then it freezes or something. I can move my mouse, but everything somewhat freezes. I tried Explorer, and it didn't have that issue. I updated java, and the problem still occurred. Any ideas on what is causing this?

good old google 

happened to a school pc and turning it off solved it but if i keep persisting i dont know
