Asking if you should upgrade is a really tricky question. It really boils down to 1 question that only you can answer.

 

Do you get the experience you want in the games you play?

 

If you answer Yes, then no, you don't need to upgrade.

 

If you answered no, then yes, you should upgrade if you have the funds available.

If you feel it's lacking in games, look on Ebay for a used i7 4770K or i7 4790K.

depends what "good for gaming" means for YOU.

 

I have a similar system (Czech my signature) but over the years I upgraded the GPU to have better visuals as I mostly play sightseeing titles.

 

Also depends on what you can spend on the upgrade. If your i5 is a K series you can try to overclock it which could increase performance, possibly buy a better cooler to do it. Or you can get a better GPU - the CPU should still handle it well enough and you can upgrade later and possibly carry it over.

 

Or if you have a lot of money to spend you can wait for Ryzen 3rd gen and then upgrade.

 

Really need more information than what you have to be able to recommend any course of action.
