Aftermarket PSU or used one?

Got this pc free as parts and I think the only thing wrong with it is the psu. However, since it isnt the mini tower, the psu is smaller and more rectangular. Id like to put one closer to 300w in it. Anyways, My question is, is there an after market solution or will I have to buy a used one and hope it works? Or will a new psu even help?

It's a proprietary Dell form factor with standard ATX connectors.

well allegedly the power supply is bad. It will turn on briefly and then immediately shut down. So I need to replace. However it could just be the motherboard but the mb doesn't look like its had too much of a beating.

The Dell PN is MPX3V, theres a few floating around Newegg and eBay. 

If you really want that machine to run again, just replace with a refurb but looks like you're gonna spend $60-$100 doing it.
