Pc not booting into os

Hello, 

 

I've recently frankensteined an old pc into a work pc, but after i bought an hdd with xp on it, installed previosly ignored updates, restarted the pc, it booted Checking NVRAM splashes a line in the top left corner and doesnt load into the os, just black screen.
