So I wanted to clean uninstall my drivers and I downloaded DDU. It said booting into save mode was recommended so I was like okay... but it said it will need a password to get in not a pin which I normally use so I go and switch the password of my microsoft account because I couldn't remember it and then after confirming that it is indeed the password I just typed in I logged into the site and it worked. Then I boot into save mode type in my password and it says it is incorrect. Now I am stuck at the loading screen tried changing it 2 more times didn't work. How do I boot into windows normally so I can enter my pin or how do I fix this? Am I typing in the wrong password? Shouldn't it be the microsoft account one? I am sure its the right account my PC is using.

If you need to sorta "hack" your password I can tell you how. It's not really hacking, it's just using windows 10 install media cmd and renaming osk.exe to osk.old and cmd.exe to osk.exe. I had to do it once because my pc started booting into safe mode. What version of windows does your PC run?

Do you mean you're stuck in safe mode, ie, it'll always boot into safe mode?

If that isn't the case, the easiest way should be logging in, and creating a new local user account (make sure the account type is set to administrator). Add a password to that account, reboot in safe mode, and try using that account to run DDU. When finished, reboot, log in to your regular account, and delete the account you previously created.

Note: Make sure that temporary account has a password. Windows 10 will generally auto log in on any user account without a password. And you can't delete a user account that is currently logged in.
