If OP can get an X79 CPU and motherboard for under $150, I'd go with that.

Is my setup great for, minimum, 1080p40FPS? (entry level setup)? Could you tell me what to change for a very budget setup? (noPSU but planning to have a 550W one for 50$)

Why?

Also, I'm more interested in total cost and not just what 2 parts cost.. OP gave minimum information to go off of but said for a "budget setup," in which case, I would not go that route..

If you're just going to game and don't have any of those usual workstation stuff (rendering/editing etc) use cases, a normal consumer chip will give you much better performance gaming-wise than a Xeon server chip.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600  Heatsink: ID-Cooling Frostflow X GPU: Zotac GTX 1060 Mini 6GB RAM: KLEVV Bolt 3600Mhz (2x8GB) Mobo: ASUS B550-F ROG Strix (Wifi)  Case: Fractal Design Meshify C PSU: Deepcool DQ-M-V2L

Cheap X79 setup would be the best price/performance, especially if OP is going to be doing even a little bit of video editing.

Maybe I'm wrong, idk, but I feel like a super cheap X79 setup would be good.

check prices of RX 570 before buying 1050 Ti It performs better in every single scenario and most of the time matches/beats the 1060 3GB too. It's usually cheaper than the 1050 Ti.

The problem is, we don't know what OP is doing..

But you may be right either way..
