Installing Macos help

Im installing macos onto a z68 extreme3 zen3 motherboard with one 8gb stick on corsair vengence ddr3 ram and an i5 2500k. I am able to get into the macos installer but my internal harddrives do not show up. I can see them in Bios but they do not show up in the installer so I can not do the install. Does anyone know how to fix this?

 

(I have tried erasing the drive, reformating it to mac os extended journaled, and puting the sataharddrive onto an external sata to usb where it shows up but will not install onto because its an external drive)

Chances are your board is using a SATA controller macOS doesn't recognise however when installing macOS onto any non official hardware it's EXTREMELY important that you set SATA Mode to AHCI in your BIOS, any other mode will not work.

 

Does the board have multiple controllers? It was pretty common for boards back in the day to have one controller for normal use and one for RAID.

I just changed this and I installed a new cmos battery. Now my motherboard wont turn on. It gives me error messages but there is no video output. I think its bricked but im not shure

Oops mybad its working now phew. Im trying the sata controller switch now
