I mean we already know what they will offer. It’s looking good. 7/7 it’s fine j the shelves and hopefully we then also get some independent benchmarks in the days following.

AFAIK the 9900k "outperforms" the 9700k in most benchmarks, more so when the games demand more cores. There are a few that the 9700k out performs but that mostly seems to be less Thant statistically relevant. Most games don use that many threads, but it the 9900k does give some headroom for titles with better multithreading.

Not trying to promote a fallacy, but most reviewers consider the 9900k the best gaming CPU.

You could always wait to see how ryzen turns out too, but I am only expecting something competitive not dominating.

I'd wait for Ryzen 3000. AMD claims that the benchmarks they showed of the 3900x(and 3800x) matching the 9900k are not deceptive, but I wouldn't trust that. Very possible that the 3800x/3900x is similar to gaming performance than the 9900k, which in that case might be better to go for those since they are cheaper.

Yeah because the Ultra is shit and won't handle a 9900K 9_9

Hello Ned Stark, haven't decided on it yet but something in terms of 1080p, 24' 1ms, 144hz around 300$

A 2080 ti would be overkill for that. I would suggest 1440p 144Hz/165Hz for a 2080 ti. You could drop down to an 8700K/9700K and cheaper board/cooler for example to fit in a better screen. Also Ryzen should be considered as well due to the value for money you get.

Are you able to wait until 7/7 ?

Yes, I can wait for 7/7, I want 1080p because I cant play games if fps is lower than 100 and in metro redux for example even 2080ti has its difficulties at 1080p at ultra. So I will probably stick with 1080p for couple more years.

If you want to stick with 1080p then maybe look at a 240Hz 1080p ? At least that way a 2080 ti would be able to stretch it's legs in most games.

You don't need to. The Aorus Ultra is more than capable for a 9900K and the Ram is fine if you like it. Of course there are cheaper 3200MHz kits available but I am sure you know that.
