cannot find suitable motherboard

so I recently found out that eBay has lots of really cheap Xeons E7-8890 v3 

so i was planning to build a system with them(my reason is:why not)

the only problem is that i can't find a list of motherboards that support this specific processor so i don't know which board to buy

Yeah.

 

Look up X99 boards and see if any of them have the Xeon E7 chips on the CPU support list.

Do haswell cpus work on x99?

all I’ve seen is people saying that you need servers Moro’s for them to work

No, X99 was mostly Broadwell-EP.

 

Start looking up X99 motherboards and looking at their CPU support lists. Pretty much every X99 board will support Xeons if it's on the right socket and chipset.
