Hey all,

So I am wondering what you would recommend for a graphics card with the minimum being GTX 1060.  I do custom residential design using Sketchup and Twinmotion (recently acquired by Unreal Engine). Are there any other creators out there and what do you use/recommend?  Any examples of your work I could see?

This is what I am currently going for.

Graphics card High-end graphics card
(at least 8,000 PassMark points)
Graphics card memory 6 GB or more
Graphics card examples NVIDIA GTX 1060 (6 GB memory), Quadro K6000)
Operating system 64-bit Windows 10, 8.1 or 7 SP1 with all updates installed.
CPU (Processor) Intel Core i7 with 4.0 GHz base/boost speed or higher
Monitor resolution Minimum 1920 x 1080 pixels
System memory (RAM) 32 GB with as high a MHz value as possible
Hard drive Minimum 30 GB of disk space on the drive that the Windows User Account is located on.

The K-series Quadro cards are getting quite old, steer clear of them. Think of them as Geforce 800 series.

  • 2 weeks later...

Would a 1660 Ti be advised?  I am seeing new laptops about to come out (which I need) with these cards, and they are easily within my budget.  Example: Helios 300 with 1660 Ti around $1,200 I believe.

Any content creators or those that use Twinmotion, Unreal Engine, Lumion think this GPU will be more than enough?
