GPU upgrade

Whiro

Hi everyone.

Currently I’m running my system which is i5 2400 and HD 7770 Ghz Edition, I was planning to buy some cheap GPU but not sure if I can go any much higher with my current psu which is Corsair VS 350 ? I was thinking to go for GTX 760 but not sure if thats not too much for psu to handle it.

I think the gtx1650 is pretty good and your psu will be able to handle it.

1650 is a waste of money, it’s basically pointless with the 570.

Get a new Corsair CX or CXM and the cheapest 8 gig 570.

The rx570 needs more watts and the 1650 is cheaper and just a little bit worse like less than 5% except if you go with the 4 gig version.

swapping PSU seems the best idea and get a RX 470 or something along those line is the best option depending on your budget

I forgot to mention that I’m on really tight budget, so will be looking for second hand older cards, 1650 may be great but also a bit too expensive for me.

Used Polaris (470/480/570/580) might be a good choice but definitely get a new PSU.

If you're not going to change your PSU then look for a used 1050 ti, which is not quite as good as the 1650.

What are you trying to do on the computer? You definitely won't be gaming at any desirable resolution or frame rate.. Use the money towards a new PSU. At least a CX550/650M. Then you just need to save up to upgrade to a DDR4 platform and new GPU.

I’m planning to definitely game on it haha but most likely some older games etc, don’t worry I’m not expecting any 4k and 120fps. And tbh I don’t see reason to change for something newer like DDR4 platform, I don’t have enough time to play everyday, maybe once a week is max so why I should invest silly amounts of money.
