144hz Moinitor Issues

I recently bought a new BenQ Xl2411T monitor. As it only came with a DVI-D Dual Link to DVI-D Dual Link cable I ordered a Mini-DP to DVI-D Dual link cable to connect it to my 2018 Omen 15 Laptop. The issues was it was capped at 60hz and couldn't be changed. After some resaerch, I decided to purchase an Active Adapter. I connected it with the laptop and the cable that came with the monitor only to find that no signal was being shown on the monitor. I tried plugging the cable into my MacbookAir's Thunderbolt 2 port and saw the monitor working at 60hz. Going back to the Omen it remained with no signal. I tested all the hardware connection and rolled back and subsequently updated the adapter drivers to no avail. I've been up all night trying to fix this. Could someone please help?
