When does the 10 Gbit Speedtest come?

Knallbusch

Will someday the speed test with the new 10 Gigabit Internet line? That would be a great video :)

Where would they speed test to?  If its a server at the other end of the link, that's kinda pointless as you will get exactly what you would expect from a dedicated 10 Gig link.

If its the Internet, how would you do it?  Most servers only have 10Gig themselves.

Having such a big link is not about how fast it does to a single destination, its about having effectively unlimited bandwidth to access different sites/services all at the same time.

Router:  Intel N100 (pfSense) WiFi6: Zyxel NWA210AX (1.7Gbit peak at 160Mhz)
WiFi5: Ubiquiti NanoHD OpenWRT (~500Mbit at 80Mhz) Switches: Netgear MS510TXUP, MS510TXPP, GS110EMX
ISPs: Zen Full Fibre 900 (~930Mbit down, 115Mbit up) + Three 5G (~800Mbit down, 115Mbit up)
Upgrading Laptop/Desktop CNVIo WiFi 5 cards to PCIe WiFi6e/7

  • 1 month later...

It's so dependant on server's connection, load and bandwidth allocations aswell.. For example in the attached picture, I have no clue what limits the upload.

Plus if you mean Linus Media Group, pretty sure Linus said its 10Gbit to the data center, but their actual Internet link is less than that.
