Hi everyone,

I’m looking to upgrade/build a new PC. I’m coming from a i5-3550 paired with an GTX760. This games well enough for me. I’ve even been able to stream and game before in some titles. And I like that I can multi-task.

Id like to go Ryzen. I was looking at the 1600, mainly because I’m on a budget. I have about $350-$400 to spend on a CPU, MOBO, Memory, and I figured my 760 wouldn’t keep up so a new Graphics card.

Im planning to reuse everything else that I can to help save money.

Is the 1600 enough, or do I need to step up a level in CPU? Any suggestions are awesome!

With memory at a high speed, like 3000MHz, it makes for an excellent budget gaming CPU.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

That was my plan, my other choice was a 1700x. Or if I should wait for the new series and keep saving.

But I’m very new, and lacking highly on knowledge. Don’t know where my dollars are better spent.

Since the new Ryzen processors are coming very soon, wait for people to replace their CPUs and grab the deals as they come to eBay.
