Extreme stutter

Previously posted on troubleshooting but thought people here might be able to help:

I have a 32" 1080p Samsung LT32E310EXXU tv/monitor 2 in 1

I use it for playing games on so it has been overcloked to 66hz (the highest without crashing) for about 8 months

Just today I was playing Rocket league for an extended time period and the monitor developed some stutter (it was not the PC), as if the game was freezing every few seconds, restarting the monitor worsened this so I stopped playing (it was unplayable). I noticed that the screen was very warm also.

Any idea what the issue could be and how i could avoid it, thanks in advance!
