Hi guys,

I want to build my own PC, but I don't really know how to. I looked at a lot of videos of LinusTechTips, Techdeals, Jarrod's tech, etc etc etc. on what parts to buy and how to build. But I'm still a newbie after all and I could use a second pair of eyes to look at my build.

My goal is to build a high-end PC, something that will be able to run VR very smoothly, and run AAA games from 5 years in the future on ultra high settings. I want to build something that'll last years, and even then will only need a single part to replace to be up to date.

To see what to buy I used PC partpicker, here is my build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/crj6GG

Okay, so I'm not going to use the CPU fan included by the ryzen 2700x, I'm replacing that by the liquid cooler, and replacing the thermal paste by something actually worth something. The liquid cooler will be placed on the front of the PC for cool air intake to make sure the ryzen won't cook itself. The three extra fans will replace the fans included in the case. I prefer perfomance over looks, so RGB isn't something neccesary for my build.

I watched the 1-year test video from LinusTechTips (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLX54ounENY) and got the idea to put one of the fans on the bottom. My PC will be set on the ground and might attract a lot of dust. Is this a good plan or should I keep the bottom area ready for cool air intake? Are there any things I overlooked? Will everything fit and work together? Please let me know what you think of it or if I should change something.

Thank you so much for your help!

Platinum certified psu at 760w isn't necessary at all and completely overpriced for your build. Any 80+ Gold psu that's over 600w will be more than enough and allow for overclocking headroom. Not sure what your budget is, but if you are willing to wait about a month, the new Ryzen 3000 cpu's will be released on 7/7. For fan/radiator placement, if you place the rad in front as intake, then have 3 fans on top as exhaust. You typically want to try keeping a balanced air pressure in the case with 3 fans intake and 3 fans exhaust, although positive pressure might help with preventing some dust. Everything else pretty much looks good to me, good luck!

Any good PSU anyway, there are 80+ gold units to avoid.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Here's as close as you could currently get to that kind of Ultra setting longevity, and I matched your price point.

The upcoming Ryzen 3700X/3800X may beat out the 9900K (I think it's a tall order, but would love to see it). So keep your eyes out, but again in existing gear for $2700... Here's a thought:
