Hey guys, so I'm thinking of getting a new graphics card, but I'm really not sure what to get. I am going watercooling, so I'm leaning towards the gtx 780, but I'm not sure, is there a better option, or should I wait for upcoming cards? I'd love to hear your opinions on this!

Best regards, Alexander

780 all the way really solid card from what I've seen plus linus said the 290x runs very hot.

Since OP said they'll be watercooling, heat won't be that much of an issue.

Yeah it sure does, I'd rather go for a nvidia card, but I think that I'll wait just for the mantle update to see how much of a difference there is between them then.

Not really, I got a shit ton of money from selling my hockey gear, but I'd say kinda 600-700 dollars

Well, with that kind of money, you can get a kingpin 780ti. However realistically speaking, any 780ti will be ideal be it a DCU2, Lightning or Classified.

EDIT: By any chance, did you mean 600-700 for the whole build or just the card?

Yeah but the thing is, is it really worth it when going water? I will be overclocking to the wall.

Depend on your ambient air temp and how well your cooling/airflow is inside of your case. If you want to push your cpu and gpu to the max, then yes, w/cing will help significantly.

Also, when I'm overclocking my cpu ( funny thing, I'm kinda doing it in 10 min xD) the lower temps from the 780 will help me to get the higher hz's on my cpu.

It sure is a sexy beast, but I'm really not sure. I'll start to see what kind of an overclock and what kind of temps I get on my cpu first, and then see what happens with the mantle update. It might crush the 780 with the mantle update, but you never know, the mantle update might not make a very big difference.
