Hi, so a while ago I bought a 2x8gb corsair vengeance rgb 4266 cl19. Then I realized my mobo (asus z370-e) can only support up to 4000mhz. So i enabled my xmp profile, left the timings as is, reduced the mhz down to 4000, and tried 3600 also. I cant seem to not get any memory errors running memtest, and sometimes ill get bsod while playing games. The highest voltage settings ive tried are 1.45v on ram, vccio/sa 1.25. XMP profile is 4266 19-26-26-46 @1.4v. These timings still cause issues at 4000, 3600mhz. Im not sure what other options I can try, any suggestions on how to get the most out of this kit? Im hoping to utilize 4000mhz or atleast 3600. My cpu is an 8700k @5ghz. bios is the latest version, not sure what to do/i have no idea how to fiddle with the more specific secondary/tertiary timings either. Any help is appreciated.

I'm not that good with memory overclocking, but something that's helped me with a mem oc in the past is to run the cpu at stock speeds while trying to dial in the ram. this will give the system more stability all together and make it a little easier to oc the ram. once you're happy with the ram and know it's stable, then oc the cpu again.

hopefully this helps you.

yea its been a solid year, i had it at some low setting which was stable for a while, then i updated my bios and all my settings disappeared so i decided to try reoverclock it, running it at 2666 mhz seems to be fine but id like to shoot for higher mhz

So ive tried lowering it to 3866mhz 20-26-26-46 2T which is xmp specs for 4266mhz. 1.45V vccio/sa 1.2/1.25. gets bsods

3600 same timings, bsods,

3200, same timings, bsods,

leaving it at stock without tuning 2133mhz cl 15 it seems to be fine, is my ram faulty? or did it become faulty? my mobo can support 4000, ram is rated at 4266, but it cant even get close with all the voltages high? any ideas?
