Router suggestions

I’m currently rocking the virgin media superhub 2 but, it’s awful for WiFi coverage and gaming.

 

I’ve undertaken all the experimenting I can to improve my situation ( this includes wired ) but it hasn’t helped.

 

Can anyone suggest any good routers that are gamer friendly ?

 

I had been looking at the XR700 and asus rapture 5300.

I had been looking at the XR700 and asus rapture 5300.

Generally if a wired connection doesn't work, then most likely its an issue with the ISP. Have you done speed test to verify what speeds your getting? Also do you notice issues only at certain times of the day? 

 

Other things I have noticed. Looking up the Superhub 2 suggests its a Docsis 3.0 Gateway that supports wireless AC. Which means its a modem and router in one. You dont necessarily want to hook a router to a router, it causes issues like double NAT and thats not going to be gaming friendly. There are ways around this, but you want to verify first that its an issue with the "Router part" or an issue with the Internet itself.
